ILEA Vancouver is leading the charge in a cross chapter initiative to band together and participate in giving back to our communities. Vancouver will be partnering up with The Veterans Manor at Whole Way House in the Downtown Eastside to volunteer at their “Shopping” Event.
The "shopping" program takes place on December 11th from 10:00am-12:30pm. Your role will include helping to set up the clothes and then lead the residents through the shopping experience.
This event will be limited to 10 spaces and will come at a cost of $25. Yes, $25. The Whole Way House has an employment program where the men make unisex necklaces out of old washers and sell them to make an income. The necklaces are $25 and each volunteer that participates will take one home with them! (And they are AWESOME!!)
The Whole Way House is something near and dear to our ILEA President Shannon's heart and she herself has been volunteering for a year. The community is so vibrant and we hope that you take part of this opportunity and volunteer at an event in out community.
